Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets trefoil factor 1 (gene Tff1) in rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 9.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 12 kDa.
Trefoil factor 1 (TFF1, also called pS2) is a small secreted peptide made mainly by gastric surface mucous cells. It helps stabilize the mucus layer that protects the stomach lining, and it is also well known as an estrogen-responsive gene in breast cancer cells.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with rat. UniProt describes trefoil factor 1 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Strong expression found in normal gastric mucosa. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
