Product Overview
Clone 26A48 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes long-chain-fatty-acid--CoA ligase 4 (gene ACSL4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 79.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 79 kDa.
Long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 4 (ACSL4) prefers polyunsaturated fatty acids such as arachidonic acid and channels them into membrane phospholipids. Because these lipids are the main targets of lipid peroxidation, ACSL4 is a key determinant of ferroptosis and is widely used as a ferroptosis marker.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human HepG2 cells, human HEL cells, rat lung tissue, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of FACL4.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places long-chain-fatty-acid--CoA ligase 4 in the mitochondrion outer membrane, endoplasmic reticulum membrane and cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
