Product Overview
Clone 30F36 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein FAM50A in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 40.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
FAM50A (also called XAP5) is a conserved nuclear protein thought to take part in pre-mRNA splicing as a spliceosome-associated factor. Variants in FAM50A cause an X-linked intellectual disability syndrome, and the protein is studied in RNA processing and neurodevelopment.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human U251 cells, human MCF-7 cells, human A549 cells, rat brain tissue, rat PC-12 cells, mouse brain tissue, mouse RAW264.7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:1000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human spleen tissue, human thyroid cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human FAM50A.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein FAM50A in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed in fetal and adult tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
