Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes fanconi anemia group C protein (gene FANCC) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 63.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 63 kDa.

FANCC is one of the core components of the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway, the network that helps cells remove DNA interstrand cross-links and keep chromosomes stable. Loss of FANCC causes Fanconi anemia, so the protein is studied in DNA repair, genome stability and bone marrow failure research.

Target Fanconi anemia group C protein (gene FANCC; UniProt Q00597, human)
Host / Clonality / Isotype Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG
Reactivity Human
Form Lyophilized
Formulation Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4
Calculated MW 63.4 kDa
Observed MW 63 kDa
Storage As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Validated Applications

Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human)
Flow cytometry (fixed cells) 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human)
ELISA 0.1–0.5 µg/mL

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, human Hacat cells, human A431 cells.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U2OS cells.

Immunogen

Recombinant human FANCC fragment (Met1–Val558), expressed in E. coli.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places fanconi anemia group C protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Handle with standard laboratory precautions.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human); Flow cytometry (fixed cells) 1–3 µg/1×10⁶ cells (Human); ELISA 0.1–0.5 µg/mL. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 63.4 kDa; observed band at about 63 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Recombinant human FANCC fragment (Met1–Val558), expressed in E. coli.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
