Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets long-chain fatty acid transport protein 3 (gene SLC27A3) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 73.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70–79 kDa.
FATP3 (SLC27A3) is a member of the fatty acid transport protein family that functions mainly as an acyl-CoA synthetase for long and very long-chain fatty acids. It may also support fatty acid uptake, and it has been studied in lipid metabolism of endothelial and other cell types.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells, human Hacat cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human esophageal squamous carcinoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant human FATP3/SLC27A3 fragment (Leu192–Ile683), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places long-chain fatty acid transport protein 3 in the mitochondrion membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in bronchial and bronchiolar epithelial cells (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
