Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets lysine-specific demethylase 2A (gene KDM2A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 132.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
KDM2A (JHDM1A, FBXL11) is a JmjC domain histone demethylase that mainly removes dimethyl groups from histone H3 at Lys36. Through its CxxC zinc finger it binds unmethylated CpG islands, where it helps shape chromatin, and it also contributes to heterochromatin maintenance. As an F-box protein it can take part in ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation, and it is studied in gene regulation and cancer.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse liver tissue, human A431 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human FBXL11. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 97.1% and 100%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places lysine-specific demethylase 2A in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, with highest levels in brain, testis and ovary, followed by lung. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
