Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets fibroblast growth factor 11 (gene FGF11) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 25.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 25 kDa.

Fibroblast growth factor 11 (FGF11) belongs to the intracellular FGF subgroup (also called FGF homologous factors), which are not secreted and do not activate FGF receptors. Members of this group are expressed in the nervous system, and FGF11 is thought to be involved in nervous system development and function, although its roles are not fully characterized.

Validated Applications

Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human)
ELISA 0.1–0.5 µg/mL

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human U2OS cells.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Immunogen

Recombinant human FGF11 fragment (Lys12–Lys183), expressed in E. coli.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Nervous system. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Handle with standard laboratory precautions.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human); ELISA 0.1–0.5 µg/mL. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 25.0 kDa; observed band at about 25 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Recombinant human FGF11 fragment (Lys12–Lys183), expressed in E. coli.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
