Product Overview
Clone 17F39 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes fibulin-5 (gene FBLN5) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 50.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
Fibulin-5 is a secreted matrix protein needed for the formation of elastic fibers. It helps link elastin to microfibrils and organizes elastic fibers in skin, lung and blood vessels, and it can also bind integrins on endothelial cells. Fibulin-5 is studied in connective tissue biology, vascular elasticity and cutis laxa.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse heart.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human fibulin 5.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt describes fibulin-5 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in skin fibroblasts (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
