Product Overview
Clone DFO-6 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein FosB in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 35.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
FosB is a FOS family transcription factor that dimerizes with JUN proteins to form AP-1 complexes that regulate gene expression. A truncated splice form, ΔFosB, is unusually stable and builds up in the brain after repeated stimulation, so FosB is widely studied in addiction, stress and neuronal adaptation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human RT4 cells lysate, human U2OS cells lysate, human SiHa cells lysate, rat brain tissue lysates, mouse brain tissue lysatesIHC: mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places protein FosB in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the nucleus accumbens of the striatum (at protein level).
