Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets fractalkine (gene Cx3cl1) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 42.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 90–100 kDa.
Fractalkine (CX3CL1) is the only member of the CX3C chemokine family. It exists as a membrane-anchored adhesion molecule on endothelial cells and neurons and as a soluble chemoattractant after cleavage. Acting through CX3CR1, it guides monocyte, NK cell and T-cell adhesion and migration, and it mediates neuron-microglia communication in the brain.

Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| IHC (frozen sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat intestine tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of mouse CX3CL1. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places fractalkine in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Highest levels in brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
