Product Overview

Clone ACOG-6 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes fibroblast growth factor receptor substrate 2 (gene FRS2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 57.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 75 kDa.

FRS2 (FRS2α) is a membrane-anchored docking protein that is phosphorylated by activated FGF receptors and by the NGF receptor TrkA. Once phosphorylated, it recruits GRB2 and SHP2 to switch on Ras–MAPK and PI3K–AKT signaling, making it a central adaptor in studies of FGF signaling, development and FGFR-driven cancers.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places fibroblast growth factor receptor substrate 2 in the endomembrane system. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in heart, brain, spleen, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and testis. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Flow cytometry 1:20; Immunoprecipitation 1:50. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.Has this antibody been tested on feline samples?
A.Reactivity with feline samples has not been tested by the supplier. Aligning the immunogen sequence with the feline ortholog (e.g., by BLAST) helps estimate the chance of cross-reactivity.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 57.0 kDa; observed band at about 75 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human FRS2.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
