Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets centromere identifier (gene Dana\cid) in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila ananassae, Cid (centromere identifier) is the centromere-specific histone H3 variant, the fly counterpart of CENP-A. It replaces histone H3 in centromeric nucleosomes and marks where kinetochores assemble, so it is essential for chromosome segregation. Cid genes evolve rapidly across Drosophila species, making them a model for centromere evolution.
