Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes decapping protein 1, isoform A (gene DCP1) in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila, Decapping protein 1 (DCP1) is a cofactor of the decapping enzyme DCP2, which removes the 5′ cap from mRNAs to trigger their decay. It is a component of cytoplasmic P-bodies and has been studied in fly oocytes for its role in localizing oskar mRNA. DCP1 is used in studies of mRNA turnover and germline development.
