Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects histone-lysine N-methyltransferase eggless in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila, Eggless (Egg, the SETDB1 homolog) is a histone methyltransferase that places the repressive H3K9me3 mark. It recruits HP1 to silence chromatin and is essential in the ovary, where it supports germline development and silencing of transposons.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with Fruit fly. UniProt places histone-lysine N-methyltransferase eggless in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (Drosophila): Expressed in ovary (at protein level).
