Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes ferritin heavy chain (gene Fer1HCH) in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila, ferritin 1 heavy chain homolog (Fer1HCH) is a subunit of ferritin, the protein shell that stores iron in a soluble, non-toxic form. The heavy chain has ferroxidase activity that oxidizes ferrous iron for storage, and Drosophila ferritin is secreted and studied in iron homeostasis and dietary iron uptake in the fly gut.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with Fruit fly. UniProt describes ferritin heavy chain as secreted and also located in the Golgi apparatus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (Drosophila): Expressed in hemolymph and gut (at protein level).
