Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes copia protein (gene GIP) in Fruit fly samples.
Gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), also called glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide, is an incretin hormone released from K cells of the upper small intestine after meals. It acts on pancreatic beta cells to boost insulin secretion when glucose is elevated, and it has only a weak effect on gastric acid, so it is widely studied in glucose and metabolic regulation.
