Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects importin subunit alpha (gene Pen) in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila, pendulin (Pen) is an importin-α family nuclear import receptor. It recognizes classical nuclear localization signals on cargo proteins and, with importin-β, carries them to the nuclear pore. It is needed for normal cell division, and loss of pendulin affects hematopoietic cells in the fly, where it has been linked to blood cell overgrowth.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with Fruit fly. UniProt places importin subunit alpha in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (Drosophila): Predominantly expressed in the neuroblast stem cells.
