Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes superoxide dismutase (gene Sod2) in Fruit fly samples.
Superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD2, MnSOD) is a manganese-containing enzyme in the mitochondrial matrix that converts superoxide made during respiration into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen. As a major defense against mitochondrial oxidative damage, it is widely used as a marker in studies of oxidative stress, mitochondrial function and aging.
| Target | Superoxide dismutase (gene Sod2; UniProt Q00637, Drosophila) |

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with Fruit fly. UniProt places superoxide dismutase in the mitochondrion matrix.
