Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes maternal effect protein staufen in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila, Staufen is a double-stranded RNA-binding protein that forms ribonucleoprotein complexes to localize and control mRNAs. In the oocyte it is required to place oskar mRNA at the posterior pole and bicoid mRNA at the anterior, establishing anterior-posterior patterning, and it also functions in neuronal RNA transport and neurogenesis.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with Fruit fly. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (Drosophila): Polar granules at the posterior pole of the oocyte, and by the time the egg is laid, at the anterior pole.
