Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets histone-lysine N-methyltransferase Su(var)3-9 in Fruit fly samples.
In Drosophila, Su(var)3-9 is a histone methyltransferase that trimethylates lysine 9 of histone H3 (H3K9me3), a mark that recruits HP1 (Su(var)205). It acts mainly in pericentric heterochromatin and is a classic suppressor of position-effect variegation, making it central to studies of heterochromatin formation and gene silencing.
