Product Overview
Clone 17F49 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ferritin, mitochondrial (gene FTMT) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 27.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 22 kDa.
Mitochondrial ferritin (FTMT) is a ferritin H-like protein that is imported into mitochondria, where it oxidizes and stores iron. It is expressed mainly in cells with high metabolic activity, such as testis and neurons, and is studied for its role in protecting mitochondria from iron-driven oxidative damage.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human FTMT.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places ferritin, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Detected in testis and erythroleukemia. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
