Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets coagulation factor XI (gene F11) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 70.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
Coagulation factor XI (F11) is a plasma serine protease precursor of the intrinsic (contact) pathway. Once activated by factor XIIa or thrombin, factor XIa cleaves and activates factor IX, amplifying thrombin generation. Factor XI deficiency causes hemophilia C, and factor XI is studied as a target for anticoagulants with lower bleeding risk.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human hcct tissue, human hccp tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes coagulation factor XI as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 2 is produced by platelets and megakaryocytes but absent from other blood cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
