Product Overview
Clone AFEF-7 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes GRB2-associated-binding protein 1 (gene GAB1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 76.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 77 kDa.
GAB1 is a scaffolding adaptor that is recruited to activated receptor tyrosine kinases, especially MET, EGFR, FGFR and the insulin receptor. Once phosphorylated it docks SHP2 and the p85 subunit of PI3K, strengthening Ras–MAPK and PI3K–AKT signaling. GAB1 is essential in development and is studied in growth factor signaling and cancer.
