Product Overview
Clone FOG-7 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes neuromodulin (gene GAP43) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 24.8 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 48, 54 kDa.
GAP-43 (neuromodulin) is a neuron-specific membrane protein that is abundant in axonal growth cones during development and regeneration. It binds calmodulin and is a substrate of protein kinase C, and it regulates actin dynamics during axon growth and synaptic plasticity. GAP-43 is widely used as a marker of axon growth and regeneration in mammals.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): SH-SY5Y cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human stomach tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human GAP43.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places neuromodulin in the cell membrane, cell projection and synapse. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
