Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets glycine--tRNA ligase (gene GARS1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
Glycyl-tRNA synthetase (GARS1) attaches glycine to its tRNAs for protein synthesis and works in both the cytoplasm and mitochondria. It can also make the signaling molecule diadenosine tetraphosphate (Ap4A). Dominant GARS1 mutations cause Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2D and distal spinal muscular atrophy type V.

Immunogen
Recombinant human GARS1 fragment (Glu61–Asp673), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 95.3% and 95.4%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes glycine--tRNA ligase as secreted and also located in the cytoplasm and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, including in brain and spinal cord...
