Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes erythroid transcription factor (gene GATA1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 42.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
GATA1 is a zinc-finger transcription factor that recognizes GATA motifs and is a master regulator of red blood cell and megakaryocyte development. Working with FOG1 and other partners, it turns on globin and other erythroid genes. Mutations in GATA1 are linked to inherited anemias and thrombocytopenias and to leukemia in Down syndrome.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human GATA1 fragment (Met1–Glu203), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places erythroid transcription factor in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Erythrocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
