Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects 1,4-alpha-glucan-branching enzyme (gene GBE1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA.
Glycogen branching enzyme (GBE1) creates α-1,6 branch points in glycogen by moving short segments of α-1,4-linked glucose chains. Branching makes glycogen more soluble and creates more ends for synthesis and breakdown. GBE1 deficiency causes glycogen storage disease type IV and adult polyglucosan body disease.
