Product Overview
Clone AEHE-7 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes gelsolin (gene GSN) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 85.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 86 kDa.
Gelsolin (GSN) is a Ca2+-regulated actin-binding protein that severs actin filaments and caps their barbed ends, and it can also nucleate new filaments. It exists as an intracellular form that remodels the cytoskeleton during cell movement and as a secreted plasma form that helps clear actin released from damaged cells. Gelsolin is studied in cell motility, cytoskeletal dynamics and familial amyloidosis.
