Product Overview
Clone 25G72 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes gem-associated protein 2 (gene GEMIN2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 31.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 32 kDa.
Gemin2 is a core component of the SMN complex, which assembles the Sm protein ring onto small nuclear RNAs to form spliceosomal snRNPs. Gemin2 binds SMN and holds a set of Sm proteins in the correct arrangement for loading onto the RNA. It is studied in RNA processing and spinal muscular atrophy research.

| Immunoprecipitation | 1:50 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human gemin 2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places gem-associated protein 2 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
