Description
Anti-GFP MagBeads are magnetic polymer beads. They are made of high quality murine monoclonal antibodies and carboxyl magnetic beads. They provide rapid magnetic responsiveness. Superparamagnetism, good dispersion, uniform particle size, very low non-specific binding, and abundant binding sites.
Features
- Low background—little to no nonspecific binding, and no preclearing
- Highly reproducible—uniform beads ensure the most consistent results
- Highly sensitive—Magbeads technology is the most cited method for sensitive applications, such as ChIP and IP, of low abundance proteins
- Fast and easy— no centrifugation or preclearing steps
Applications
- IP, Co-IP, pull-down, and ChIP assays

Anti-GFP MagBeads are made from high-quality murine monoclonal antibodies coupled to carboxyl magnetic beads. The antibody recognizes the GFP epitope (and related GFP variants), enabling capture of GFP-tagged proteins from cell lysates. Protein binding capacity is ≥0.6 mg protein/mL beads.
The anti-GFP antibody recognizes wild-type GFP and commonly used variants including EGFP, ECFP, EYFP, mGFP, and most other GFP derivatives. It does not reliably capture structurally divergent fluorescent proteins such as mCherry, DsRed, or mTomato. Validate binding of unusual variants before committing to large-scale experiments.
No — a key advantage of these MagBeads is that pre-clearing is not required. The very low non-specific binding of the bead surface means you can directly add lysate to the beads without a pre-clear step, saving time and reducing sample handling steps.
Primary applications include immunoprecipitation (IP) of GFP-tagged proteins, co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) for interaction studies, pull-down assays from cell or nuclear lysates, and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) with GFP-tagged chromatin-associated proteins.
Store at 2–8°C for 1 year. Do not freeze — freezing disrupts bead dispersion. Before use, mix beads by vortexing briefly and ensure complete resuspension. Storage buffer: ddH₂O. The magnetic beads should appear as a uniform brown/black suspension when properly mixed.
