Boster Bio Anti-GLUD1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A01866-3. Tested in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, IP, IF, IHC, ICC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.
Scientific background: GLUD1 (glutamate dehydrogenase 1) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme, one of the family of glutamate dehydrogenases that are ubiquitous in life, with a key role in nitrogen and glutamate (Glu) metabolism and energy homeostasis. This dehydrogenase is expressed at high levels in liver, brain, pancreas and kidney, but not in muscle. In the pancreatic cells, GLUD1 is thought to be involved in insulin secretion mechanisms. In nervous tissue, where glutamate is present in concentrations higher than in the other tissues, GLUD1 appears to function in both the synthesis and the catabolism of glutamate and perhaps in ammonia detoxification.
Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
Protein: Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 2 (Lamp2) | Gene: Double-strand-break repair protein rad21 homolog | Target: GLUD1 | Function: Cleavable component of the cohesin complex, involved in chromosome cohesion during cell cycle, in DNA repair, and in apoptosis. The cohesin complex is required for the cohesion of sister chromatids after DNA replication. The cohesin complex apparently forms a large proteinaceous ring within which sister chromatids can be trapped. At metaphase-anaphase transition, this protein is cleaved by separase/ESPL1 and dissociates from chromatin, allowing sister chromatids to segregate. The cohesin complex may also play a role in spindle pole assembly during mitosis. Also plays a role in apoptosis, via its cleavage by caspase-3/CASP3 or caspase-7/CASP7 during early steps of apoptosis: the C-terminal 64 kDa cleavage product may act as a nuclear signal to initiate cytoplasmic events involved in the apoptotic pathway. . | Research areas: Cancer,Cell Biology,Cell Cycle,Cell Division,2339,Chromosome Structure,DNA/RNA,DNA Damage & Repair,DNA Damage Response,Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling
Host: Rabbit | Clonality/Clone: Polyclonal | Isotype: Rabbit IgG | Reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat | Immunogen: E.coli-derived human GLUD1 recombinant protein (Position: A210-T558). | Concentration: Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml. | Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
Applications: WB, IHC, IF, ICC, FC, IP, ELISA
Observed MW: 55 kDa | Calculated MW: 61 kDa
Cellular localization: Nucleus . Chromosome . Chromosome, centromere . Associates with chromatin. Before prophase it is scattered along chromosome arms. During prophase, most of cohesin complexes dissociate from chromatin probably because of phosphorylation by PLK, except at centromeres, where cohesin complexes remain. At anaphase, it is cleaved by separase/ESPL1, leading to the dissociation of the complex from chromosomes, allowing chromosome separation. Once cleaved by caspase-3, the C-terminal 64 kDa cleavage product translocates to the cytoplasm, where it may trigger apoptosis. .
Tissue details: Expression is primarily restricted to central and peripheral nervous system. Greatly increased expression in most cancerous tissues. .
