Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(I)/G(S)/G(O) subunit gamma-2 (gene GNG2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 7.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 12 kDa.
Gγ2 (GNG2) is a gamma subunit of heterotrimeric G proteins that combines with a Gβ subunit into a signaling dimer. The Gβγ complex supports Gα activation and regulates effectors such as ion channels and enzymes, and it also takes part in taste transduction.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U87 cells, HEPA1–6 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human GNG2 fragment (Ala2–Asp48), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(I)/G(S)/G(O) subunit gamma-2 in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in fetal tissues, including testis, adrenal gland, brain, white blood cells and brain. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
