Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets melatonin-related receptor (gene GPR50) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 67.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 67 kDa.
GPR50 (melatonin-related receptor) is a G protein-coupled receptor closely related to melatonin receptors but does not bind melatonin. It is expressed in the brain, including the hypothalamus, and is studied in energy metabolism, neural progenitor behavior and its ability to modulate melatonin receptor MT1 signaling.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse testis tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human GPR50 fragment (Lys214–Ser471), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places melatonin-related receptor in the cell membrane and postsynaptic density. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Hypothalamus and pituitary. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
