Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets gremlin-1 (gene GREM1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 20.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 21 kDa.
Gremlin-1 (GREM1) is a secreted antagonist of bone morphogenetic proteins, especially BMP2 and BMP4. By binding BMPs and preventing receptor activation, it shapes limb outgrowth and kidney development, and it is studied in fibrosis, bone formation and colorectal cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human A549 cells, rat testis tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human gremlin 1. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes gremlin-1 as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in small intestine, fetal brain and colon. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
