Product Overview
Clone 19N74 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes NADH dehydrogenase (gene NDUFA13) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 16.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 17 kDa.
GRIM-19 (NDUFA13) is an accessory subunit of mitochondrial complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase), the large enzyme of the inner mitochondrial membrane that passes electrons from NADH to ubiquinone and starts the respiratory chain. Accessory subunits are not thought to take part in catalysis but help build and stabilize the complex. GRIM-19 was first identified as a gene induced by interferon plus retinoic acid that promotes cell death, and it can also restrain STAT3-driven transcription.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): Ramos cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver tissue, human liver cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human GRIM19.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places NADH dehydrogenase in the mitochondrion inner membrane and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed, with highest expression in heart, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney and placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
