Product Overview
Clone EGE-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (gene GRK2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 79.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 80 kDa.
GRK2 (also called βARK1 or ADRBK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that phosphorylates agonist-bound G protein-coupled receptors such as the β2-adrenergic receptor. This marks receptors for β-arrestin binding, which uncouples them from G proteins and drives internalization. GRK2 is widely expressed and is studied in receptor desensitization, cardiac function and heart failure.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human GRK2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 in the cytoplasm, cell membrane, cell projection and postsynapse. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
