Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets growth hormone receptor (gene GHR) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 71.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 80 kDa.
The growth hormone receptor (GHR) is a cytokine-family receptor that binds pituitary growth hormone and drives postnatal body growth. Hormone binding activates JAK2 and STAT5 signaling, which induces genes such as IGF-1. A cleaved soluble form, growth hormone-binding protein, circulates in plasma, and GHR is widely studied in growth, metabolism and endocrine research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HEK293 cells, human SW620 cells, human Caco-2 cells, human Jurkat cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places growth hormone receptor in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in various tissues with high expression in liver and skeletal muscle...
