Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets growth hormone receptor (gene Ghr) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 72.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 130 kDa.
The growth hormone receptor (GHR) is a cytokine-family receptor that binds pituitary growth hormone and drives postnatal body growth. Hormone binding activates JAK2 and STAT5 signaling, which induces genes such as IGF-1. A cleaved soluble form, growth hormone-binding protein, circulates in plasma, and GHR is widely studied in growth, metabolism and endocrine research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Mouse, Rat) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat C6 cells, mouse RAW2467 cells, mouse Neuro-2a cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HEPA1–6 cells, NRK cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse Growth hormone receptor/GHR fragment (Thr25–Gln650), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places growth hormone receptor in the cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Expressed in all tissues tested including, liver, heart, adipose tissue, mammary gland, testes, ovary, brain, kidney and muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
