Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes glutathione S-transferase A4 (gene Gsta4) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 25.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
Glutathione S-transferase A4 (GSTA4) is an alpha-class GST specialized for detoxifying lipid peroxidation products. It is especially active toward reactive aldehydes like 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE), linking them to glutathione, limiting damage from these reactive aldehydes. GSTA4 is studied in oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation and metabolic disease models.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat liver tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse liver tissue, mouse lung tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant mouse GSTA4 fragment (Glu29–Phe222), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt places glutathione S-transferase A4 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
