Product Overview
Clone 11F2 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes glutathione S-transferase Mu 1 (gene GSTM1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, IHC, ICC/IF and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 25.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
Glutathione S-transferase Mu 1 (GSTM1) is a mu-class GST that conjugates glutathione to electrophilic carcinogens, drugs and products of oxidative stress. A common deletion polymorphism leaves many people without GSTM1 activity, so it is widely studied in pharmacogenetics, xenobiotic metabolism and susceptibility to environmental toxins.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa, cells, human T-47D cells, rat brain tissue, rat lung tissue, rat stomach tissue, mouse lung tissue, mouse stomach tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat liver tissue, human colon cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U2OS cells, HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human GSTM1. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 70.6% and 73.5%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places glutathione S-transferase Mu 1 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Liver (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
