Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects general transcription factor IIF subunit 2 (gene GTF2F2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 28.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 28 kDa.
TFIIF subunit 2 (GTF2F2, RAP30) is the smaller subunit of general transcription factor IIF. TFIIF binds RNA polymerase II and, together with TFIIB, brings it to the promoter and stabilizes the pre-initiation complex; it also helps during early elongation. GTF2F2 is studied in the basic mechanics of RNA polymerase II transcription.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human U-937 cells, human PC-3 cells, human HL-60 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HL-60 cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places general transcription factor IIF subunit 2 in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
