Product Overview
Clone 26G70 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes general transcription factor IIF subunit 2 (gene GTF2F2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 28.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 28 kDa.
TFIIF subunit 2 (GTF2F2, RAP30) is the smaller subunit of general transcription factor IIF. TFIIF binds RNA polymerase II and, together with TFIIB, brings it to the promoter and stabilizes the pre-initiation complex; it also helps during early elongation. GTF2F2 is studied in the basic mechanics of RNA polymerase II transcription.
