Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets hemoglobin subunit delta (gene HBD) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 16.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 16 kDa.
Hemoglobin subunit delta (HBD) is the delta-globin chain that pairs with alpha globin to form hemoglobin A2, a minor form of adult hemoglobin that carries oxygen. HbA2 levels are commonly measured in thalassemia screening. HBD is studied in hemoglobin biology and globin gene regulation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 0.5–1 µg/mL |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, rat spleen tissue, mouse spleen tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human intestinal cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human mammary cancer tissue, human placenta tissue, mouse liver tissue, rat liver tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).
Immunogen
Recombinant human HBD fragment (Val2–His147), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Red blood cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
