- Antibody format: Rabbit, Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG
- Molecular weight: 16 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-HBD Antibody Picoband® catalog # A01076-1.
Biological background
Biological context: Involved in oxygen transport from the lung to the various peripheral tissues.
Expression and localization notes: tissue context: Red blood cells..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare HBD levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of HBD in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify HBD-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Hemoglobin subunit delta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HBD gene. The delta (HBD) and beta (HBB) genes are normally expressed in the adult: two alpha chains plus two beta chains constitute HbA, which in normal adult life comprises about 97% of the total hemoglobin. Two alpha chains plus two delta chains constitute HbA-2, which with HbF comprises the remaining 3% of adult hemoglobin. Five beta-like globin genes are found within a 45 kb cluster on chromosome 11 in the following order: 5'-epsilon--Ggamma--Agamma--delta--beta-3'.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Tissue details: Red blood cells.
