Predominantly cytoplasmic in proliferating cells. Cytotoxic stress and DNA damage enhance translocation to the nucleus. Localized with DDX1, MBNL1 and TIAL1 in stress granules upon stress. Secreted by mesangial and monocytic cells after inflammatory challenges. Translocates from the cytoplasm to the nucleus after and colocalizes with APEX1 in nuclear speckles after genotoxic stress.

Rabbit Monoclonal

Product Overview

Clone 26H94 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes hepatoma-derived growth factor (gene HDGF) in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 26.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 38 kDa.

Hepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGF) is a heparin-binding protein first isolated from a hepatoma cell line. It carries a PWWP domain, acts in the nucleus as a transcriptional regulator, and can be secreted to stimulate fibroblast proliferation. HDGF is studied in cell growth, angiogenesis and cancer.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200; Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200; Flow cytometry 1:50. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human, Mouse. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 26.8 kDa; observed band at about 38 kDa. A difference from the calculated size is common and can reflect post-translational modification, processing or isoform differences.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human HDGF.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
