Product Overview
Clone 28H81 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes vigilin (gene HDLBP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 141.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
Vigilin (HDLBP) is a large RNA-binding protein with 14 KH domains, originally identified as a high-density lipoprotein-binding protein. It binds many mRNAs, associates with the endoplasmic reticulum and supports translation of secreted and membrane proteins, and it has been linked to cellular cholesterol handling. Vigilin is studied in RNA biology and lipid metabolism.
