Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects HEPACAM family member 2 (gene HEPACAM2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 51.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 65 kDa.
HEPACAM family member 2 (HEPACAM2, also called MIKI) is an immunoglobulin-superfamily protein. During prometaphase, after poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation by tankyrase, it moves from the Golgi to mitotic centrosomes and helps anchor AKAP9, supporting centrosome maturation and spindle formation. It is studied in mitosis and centrosome biology.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.25 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human HEL cells, human Caco-2 cells, human SH-SY5Y cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human liver cancer tissue, human pancreas ductal adenocarcinoma tissue, human testicular seminoma tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant human HEPACAM2 fragment (Gly31–Lys345), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 88.6%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places HEPACAM family member 2 in the Golgi apparatus membrane, cytoplasm and midbody. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
