Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes homocysteine-responsive endoplasmic reticulum-resident ubiquitin-like domain member 1 protein (gene HERPUD1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 43.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 56 kDa.
HERPUD1 (Herp) is an endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein with a ubiquitin-like domain that is strongly induced by ER stress. It supports ER-associated degradation (ERAD) of misfolded proteins by helping assemble the HRD1 ubiquitin ligase machinery and interacting with ubiquilins. HERPUD1 is studied in the unfolded protein response and ER protein quality control.

Immunogen
Recombinant human HERP/HERPUD1 fragment (Glu6–Gln361), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 88.7%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places homocysteine-responsive endoplasmic reticulum-resident ubiquitin-like domain member 1 protein in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
