Product Overview
Clone 27H20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes hereditary hemochromatosis protein (gene HFE) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 40.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
HFE (hereditary hemochromatosis protein) is an MHC class I-like membrane protein that pairs with β2-microglobulin and binds transferrin receptor 1. It takes part in sensing body iron status and supporting hepcidin production by the liver. The HFE C282Y mutation is the most common cause of hereditary hemochromatosis, and HFE is studied in iron homeostasis.
