Product Overview
Clone AFG-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes huntingtin-interacting protein 1 (gene HIP1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 116.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 116 kDa.
Huntingtin-interacting protein 1 (HIP1) binds huntingtin, clathrin, AP-2 and actin, and helps link clathrin-coated pits to the actin cytoskeleton during endocytosis. In neurons it supports trafficking of AMPA-type glutamate receptors, and it is studied in membrane trafficking, Huntington's disease research and receptor tyrosine kinase signaling.

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places huntingtin-interacting protein 1 in the cytoplasm, nucleus and endomembrane system. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed with the highest level in brain.
